I need a haircut.

This week was very much a week away from the Org for me. Work had me entirely too tired and finding time to be social and/or sleeping kept me away from my Powerbook.
  • I was around to read the very open letter from one half of the From Autumn To Ashes meltdown that happened. I’m blown away by how open (or “apparently” open) the band is being. Obviously it paints the remaining members in the more positive light and without hearing Ben’s side of the story, who’s to say what’s true and what’s not? You can’t believe everything (or anything) that you read.
  • My choice for Mp3 of the Week today came from this NPR story on children’s music. The whole concept that there is an underground children’s music scene kind of blows me away.
  • I stumbled upon what could be the most homesickness-inspiring televised performance ever tonight. A Night in Black and White features an all-star cast backing Roy Orbison: Jackson Browne, T-Bone Burnett, Elvis Costello, k.d. lang, Bonnie Raitt, Steven Soles, J.D. Souther, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Waits, and Jennifer Warnes. I want to see my Dad.
  • Sorry Rise Against, but your cover of Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth” is woefully inadequate. You’ve somehow managed to take the teeth out of legendary political song. The original one sounded a lot more hardcore ironically.
  • I love hot sauce.
  • Nate Albert has resurfaced with Cry Tuff Council. Can we all just forget about the Kickovers?
  • I miss Discount. While Monikers sounds promising…it’s just not the same.
  • I’m tired of writing obituaries for people who are roughly the same age as me.
Not too much witty insight this time around folks. My best friend turned 25 on Monday. I went ice skating for the first time. There were palm trees. We are awesome.
