On Friday Erin and I took a ride down Route 1. We didn’t really have much of a destination in mind. I’ve been pretty stressed out lately for various reasons and needed to get out of the city pretty badly. So we hopped in the Little Buddy and headed down my favorite drive in America probably.
Something about that drive just clears my head. Maybe it’s the fact that you can pull off at any point and experience something amazing. Maybe it’s being so far away from the concrete and walls and fake progress that we’re making. Maybe it’s just getting out of my goddamned house more.
Whatever it be, it be working. I feel a lot better. And you can tell I feel better when I’m listening to Ella at work. She soothes my gentle mind, but only can do so when I’m already calmed down. So all is well now.
After seeing the Elephant Seals at
San Simeon, we cut across the 46 to hook up with the 101 and go north. You have to remember that cold in California is 46 degrees. And I mean at 46, I’m freezing to death. I’m such a wuss. So it’s around 45 or so and we start heading East to catch the 101. As we’re driving it starts raining, which is unsurprising at it rained the whole weekend. However, then it turns to sleet. Then, into
snow. Yes, that’s right. I finally got snow in California. You’ve got to remember though, San Simeon is
pretty far south on the Cali coastline. Like, 150 miles or so from LA south. Ridiculous.
That was pretty much the excitement for the weekend. Yup.
