Uplifting and Innovative
Homeless perform Opera in Oxford What a neat idea. Talk about people power and empowering the disenfranchised. I’m pretty jealous they managed to do this across the pond, before we got to do it here. I’ve been feeling that way a lot lately. All in all, sometimes it’s just ridiculous the way that we treat people in this country. What do you mean, everybody doesn’t get healthcare? Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness? In order to have life you need to be able to live. Interesting that. I know the general reaction to any discussion about healthcare is that it will lower the quality of the healthcare given in the US. You know what? I don’t care. Studies have shown that as an individual spends more on health care, you receive diminishing returns. This means that the more you spend, the less you’re going to be getting. But what is also shown is that the countries with a greater percentage of their population having access to healthcare have lower crime and poverty. Interesting. So we should spend less and give out more of it, in order to have a peaceful, prosperous country. I’m willing to shell out a bit more tax money for that.
