A Small Victory decided to officially announce their breakup. This actually stinks, not only because it leaves
Lobster with a ton of CDs, but also because they
made some good music in my opinion. However, all is not lost, as their singer Reppard (can’t be his real name) has decided to get a few folk together and make some country-folk-poppish songs in his basement, under the moniker
Burning Nazareth. There’s not much at the webpage, but their
Purevolome page has a few streaming/downloadable tracks.
It sounds like a country-fied version of ASV’s rock, which is a good thing. There’s some neat rhythmic guitar work going on in
Sight’s intro. To be honest, the whole thing kind of reminds me of
The New Amsterdams. If you’re in the mood to relax on these beautiful spring days that we’ve been having in San Francisco lately, grab some of this.
