…Professor Hiroshi Shimizu, of Japan’s Keio University, believes his team can make the electric car popular. He feels that the movement towards stricter emissions laws will favour these zero emission vehicles.
This sounds pretty awesome. Elsewhere in the article, the creator ruminates about the japanese car industry’s reluctance to accept his invention. It seems pretty obvious to me why they wouldn’t be about it. It’d take a complete overhaul of their production line for something that the public isn’t clamoring for yet. I am totally behind this, but we as consumers actually have to ask for them. We’re pretty bad about that. We want specific things, but even those of us who are pretty dedicated to the widespread use of them can get pretty elitist once it starts happening.
