This weekend was fun. I got to see Erin and Seagull and other people. We met up at the “rally” in DC to….well, I’m still not quite sure what the hell was supposed to be going on. First of all, ANSWER was sponsoring it (always a bit of a mess…) and their message was a hardline “bring our troops home” stance, which is ridiculous. It’s ridiculous because pulling our troops out now would be the most inhumane, socially irresponsible act that we could possibly do. We are responsible for the safety of those people whom we have “liberated”. Sadly, until we have some backing from other nations, our soldiers have to stay there. The other frustrating thing was the amount of sloganeering. This is acceptable at a rally, but this was “no oil war” stuff. Correct me if I’m wrong, but we’ve since fought and ended the aforementioned “oil war”, right? I understand the sentiment, but you need a new saying, a new schtick so to speak. Pretty ludicrous. However, I did score some nice buttons. Sad, isn’t it?
The chinese food from Mr. Chen’s was awesome. For those of you in the DC area, it’s obvious that all you do is eat (judging from the amazing lack of anything else to do, short of seeing Good Charlotte), so I recommend taking the Metro to the Woodley Park/Zoo exit, and walking away from the zoo, and right below the Baskin-Robins there is the best chinese food restaurant. EVAR.
I finally ordered myself a new comforter. Taking advice from the mom-beast and Jenn I got a queen size instead of a king size. When will I ever have a king size bed again? Probably never. Speaking of house things, John Kelly, my new roommate is moving in this weekend. I’ll be up at the hunger conference in Hartford, CT but I’m still totally stoked. He’s a really cool guy (into computers, a natural plus), and that means I get some cash back in my pocket.
I acquired a shiiteload of good music lately. LTJ - Live from the Apple Store, Joe Strummer - Streetcore, Dismemberment Plan remix cd, Streetlight Manifesto, a four cd set outlining the beginnings of Jamaican music, Muse - Absolution, a large selection of Coldplay rarities, the Curse EP, and a few others. Jenn calls me a loser for having that much music, and that it’s sad. I say she’s sad, because she’s never heard ALL - Mass Nerder, so it all works out. She likes Lagwagon anyways… pshaw.
Oh yeah, on that note. Lagwagon sucks.
