I haven’t updated this in a bit. Like over a week. Which breaks the promise I made to myself of semi-regular updates. Well, I guess I need to make up for it, which means I should do a life-update, as opposed to one of my meandering sociopolitical rants.
Points of Note- I am taking 5 classes via distance learning from Indiana University. It’s really fun, but hard to get the motivation to do it while working about 40 hours a week doing manual labor.
- I really enjoyed the warm weather. Please bring it back. This rain stuff is killing me.
- Daylight Savings has apparently screwed me over for good. I can’t get my internal clock reset. That’ll teach me to try and go out on the town with those crazy college kids and stay up through the time change.
- Speaking of crazy kids, a couple developments. Clint has moved to LA with Matt and Mallinger. Pretty awesome. Erin, Johnny B, Pat, Kerry, Ted and a couple other notable folks graduate this year. Which is in a month. Which means I’ve had this damn degree for a year. Like whoa.
- I’ve decided to write something large. I’ve never ever written fiction before, but something about Kurt Vonnegut’s work inspires me, so I’m going to write myself a big long book and see if it’s good. Yeah, I know what you’re thinking, but I’ll do it.
- I got a new bookshelf. It’s awesome.
That’s pretty much it.
I had looked into an awesome opportunity building a Buddhist Temple at the Odiyan, north of San Francisco. Sadly, even with room and board paid for, $150/mo is not enough for this boy to live on. And seriously, who is it enough for? Are there people out there who can do this? And are they not brimming to the top with cash that falls from heaven? Mana from heaven, if you wil?
I kind of am getting in a rut again. I can feel it brewing, my flight response. I think it was this weekend, when I was hanging pictures on the wall (which I need to take a picture of), and my
Lost in Translation poster. Something about it seemed way too permanent. Also, I want to trade in my iBook and my PC for a Apple Powerbook. I would really rather wait till the G5’s come out, either so I can get one of those, or so the G4’s prices drop. I am just sick of having a huge computer. Hell, mine’s even tiny, like 6 inches tall and a foot and a half deep and it’s too big. I’m just at the point where I don’t want to tinker with a computer, I rarely want to play games. I just want the damned thing to work, and I want to be able to carry it with me from place to place. Is that too much to ask? I don’t think so.
I think I’m going to head to bed now. If you haven’t noticed, the page looks like ass in a can right now. Not my fault. I swear. Maybe I’ll fix it back to pre-meltdown state here in a second. In fact, I think I will.
